Ok, literally my favorite show is Gossip Girl. I love it so much and shout out to my friend who told me to start watching it. One night, I even dreamt of meeting one of the characters. “Finish Gossip Girl”, is on my friend and I’s bucket list. Though, it’s pretty crazy how many episodes are in just one season! Seriously, there are 18 episodes in season one (which I have already finished). I’m in season two right now. The characters are great actors/actresses and it’s very entertaining to watch because there’s always something going on. Just like how Blair Waldorf is always up to causing trouble and Chuck Bass is being suspicious. Then, there’s Serena Vanderwoodsen, whose head is always swarming with thoughts. And, over to Jenny Humphrey who is attached to her modeling career and always doing the wrong thing that gets her dad very very mad. There's also Dan Humphrey (Jenny’s older brother) who is writing stories about what he sees going on with people around the city or, he's either trying to get his life sorted out. Next, Nate Archibald is dealing with his mom and dad and secrets. Finally, the last character I’m going to talk about; Vanessa. Vanessa is good at helping people resolve their problems and she’s also pretty good at paying attention to the games played in Upper East Side. Moreover, she'll mostly leave it at neutral or, come up with a comeback (rarely). She's also not an easy person that forgives or forgets.
When I was home sick one day, I watched Gossip Girl until about 3:00 in the afternoon. Oh, but don’t worry. I didn’t stare at a TV screen all day because I had breaks in between. I also colored while watching it and cooked something at one point. Anyway, back to my favorite TV show…Yeah, I watched six episodes in (roughly) 6 hours when I was home sick…! In these episodes, I was happy to see that Jenny was in all of them because she’s one of my favorite characters.
So, let me summarize what this show is really about. Basically, it’s about teenage drama. Literally. Actually. The parents also have parts in it too. Additionally, there is this anonymous person named “Gossip Girl”. Any teenage boy or girl that lives in Upper East Side knows about this. So, what these teenagers do, is take a picture of a person or more than one person. But, it's not any ordinary, everyday picture. It is a picture of some person that doesn't want people to know that they are doing. It could mean that the picture involves them getting embarrassed, or them being secretive and getting busted…Furthermore, after the person behind the camera takes the picture of the person/ people, they send it to “Gossip Girl” from their phone. Then, “Gossip Girl” uploads the picture online with a caption matching the image. Once “Gossip Girl” uploads the photo to the Internet, all of the teenagers from Upper East Side, get a notification on their phone screen of the picture and its caption. Oh, and I know I kept saying “Upper East Side” and you might be wondering what it is. Upper East Side is a place in New York City. It is a neighborhood in the borough of Manhattan.
This show started on September 19, 2007, and ended on December 17, 2012. Wow! That's over five years of filming! Plus, it's available to watch on Netflix.
Xoxo, Gossip Girl. (Every episode ends with "Gossip Girl" speaking those words).
